IS EVERY DENTIST THE SAME? MEET DR. LANNING
"My priority in dentistry is to help my patients keep their teeth and gums healthy for a lifetime. I feel there is only one way to practice dentistry and that is with concern, clinical excellence and clear communication."
Dr. Lanning has always been active in his community and church. He has served as president of his homeowners association, property owners association, and member of the Argyle Chamber of Commerce. He has been married to his wife, Danita since 1982 and together they have four children, ages 14 - 22. They love to camp, dirt bike, snow ski and play board games. In addition to serving in his own community, Dr Lanning is an active part of Hearts for Honduras providing comprehensive dental humanitarian relief in some of the poorest areas in the world. Each spring, together with other doctors, dentists, and volunteers their team will once again provide compassionate care for the needy residents in the remote villages of Honduras.
For the last 27 years Dr Lanning has been in the private practice of Family and Cosmetic Dentistry. He attended Texas A&I University as an undergraduate, then studied at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas, where he received his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) in 1984. He operated in private practice in NW Houston for 19 years before moving to Argyle, Texas. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Family Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, and Denton Dental Society. Dr Lanning is committed to offering premium dentistry. He's attended over 1,000 hours of advanced dental courses and has set his goal on achieving his Fellowship in the Academy of Family Dentistry. (His wife jokes that he is a CE junkie!) Dr Lanning is also a member of the teaching faculty at The Center for Aesthetic Cosmetic Dentistry where he has completed the Master's Course. Dr Lanning is an exceptional dentist and he is our favorite!
Deborah Mouser: Registered Dental Hygienist
Deborah has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for more than 30 years and has in excess of 1000 hours of continuing education courses. She came to us from Texas Woman's University where she taught for 7 years and was voted one of TWU's Most Favorite Instructors. Deborah's commitment to excellence and insatiable thirst for knowledge sets her apart in her field. Her passion and enthusiasm for dental health is evident by her work ethic and patient care.
Deborah married Donn on Valentine's Day in 1985 and they are the proud parents of 21 year old triplets. Their daughter attends Texas State University and their sons attend Tarleton State University. Deborah brings vast experience in patient care and education to our practice and she is Dr. Lanning's favorite.
Lisa Maynard: Registered Dental Hygienist
Lisa is a graduate of Midwestern State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She has been a registered dental hygienist for seven years. Lisa is very professional and compassionate with our patients. Lisa is committed to our patient's overal health and patient education for improved oral hygiene.
Lisa grew up in Graham Texas, where she married John in 1999. John and Lisa have two Boston Terriers, "Ace" and "Joker". Lisa enjoys boating, scuba diving, and four-wheeling. Lisa's sweet smile and positive attitude make her a joy to work with and she is Dr Lanning's favorite!
Shalah Barnwell: Lab Technician
Shalah has been with Dr Lanning intermittently since 1988. Shalah rejoined the team last year to assist as lab technician primarily focusing on preparation for cosmetic cases. Shalah has recently completed the course in dental assisting and is now Dr Lanning's Registered Dental Assistant. She assists Dr Lanning chairside and continues to manage our in-house lab.
Shalah and her three children, ages 6-14 live in Flower Mound. Shalah has been a much needed and appreciated addition to the team and she is Dr Lanning's favorite!
Lori Staples: Business Office and Marketing Director
Lori joined our team in 2007 in the business office. Lori has a diverse professional background with experience in areas that include business management and marketing. Most of our patients meet Lori while coordinating the schedule or during their treatment case presentation. Lori coordinates the business office, marketing, and patient relations. Lori is committed to compassionate care for all of our patients.
Lori is joyfully married to Harold and has 2 boys, Matt, 20, who is in the US Army, and Ryan, 17, a senior at Northwest High School. Their family and three dogs, Jesse and Harley and Beau are Trophy Club residents. Lori and Harold are worship leaders. She has brought growth to our practice and she is Dr Lanning's favorite!
